No action against Kev for 'Massey Attack'

That's meant to be a joke of 'Massive Attack' and not an assumption that Kev did actually attack Sian Massey. The Football Association, after consulting with the FAW, have decided there's no case for Kevin McNaughton to answer after the collision with Sian Massey during Monday's League clash with Middlesbrough. There have been rumours of a dressing room bet and a purposeful targetting of Miss Massey who was running the line at Cardiff City Stadium. The article here in the Daily Mail (my God they've been full of us over the last 24 hours) do their best to sensationalise it to the nth degree. From what I've seen of the incident and from the professionalism Miss Massey has shown doing her job is that she is brilliant and does not let these things get to her. The incident was not reported by the referee, says The Guardian, Graham Scott, and no action was taken against McNaughton at the time. The FA is understood to have contacted the Football Association of Wales, under whose immediate jurisdiction the match took place, but is satisfied that the clash was accidental and no disciplinary investigation is required. The clip of the tumble appears to confirm the defender's momentum had carried him into Massey, yet it has attracted hits and comments on YouTube, with some suggesting the player had deliberately barged into the official. "He is not that type of guy," said John Viola, McNaughton's agent. "He is the nicest player you would ever meet in your life so anyone suggesting he did it on purpose is crazy. He was concentrating on the game. He is a focused footballer."
