McPhail proves his fitness
Stephen McPhail moved closer to his first-team return for Cardiff by lining up for the club`s reserves on Tuesday afternoon.
The midfielder was an unused substitute in Sunday`s derby triumph over Swansea - returning to City`s matchday squad for the first time since sustaining a hamstring injury in the FA Cup replay against Stoke on January 18.
And he boosted his chances of being involved against Scunthorpe on Saturday with a solid display for City`s second-string as they beat Newport County 2-1.
The likes of Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Gavin Rae, Gabor Gyepes and Chris Burke, who netted the winner, were also involved.
