Former Republic of Ireland midfielder Stephen McPhail has agreed a new deal with Cardiff that will keep him with the club until 2013. The 30-year-old, who began his career with Leeds before moving to Barnsley, is expected to pen the deal this week. McPhail, who recently won a battle with cancer, will follow in the footsteps of Darcy Blake, Kevin McNaughton and Peter Whittingham who have all signed new contracts recently.
