Cardiff starlet Adam Matthews has been offered a new contract by the Championship promotion hopefuls. The full-back, 19 on Thursday, was being tracked by the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United 12 months ago when enjoying a sustained first-team run, but chances have been limited this term. "An offer has been made and we are waiting to hear from Adam," said chief executive Gethin Jenkins in the South Wales Echo. Matthews, who progressed through the Bluebirds' youth ranks, has made just two league starts and six substitute appearances in 2010/11.
