Matthews, 18, has been with Cardiff from the age of eight and signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday last January.[LNB]But it is this season that he has really risen to prominence and, having made his first-team debut back in August, has already gone on to rack up 30 appearances and gained a call-up to Wales' senior squad in the process.[LNB]Inevitably, the youngster has been linked to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Arsenal believed to be tracking his progress.[LNB]His latest award only goes to strengthen his reputation.[LNB]Elsewhere, Newcastle midfielder Kevin Nolan walked away with the division's Player of the Year prize.[LNB][LNB]
