Man, 27, dies in lorry collision

A 27-year-old man has died after the van he was driving was in collision with an articulated car transporter lorry.The B4265 in St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan, was closed after the incident, which happened at 1250 BST on Friday while investigations took place. [LNB]The 43-year-old driver of lorry, who is from Gloucester, has been assisting officers with their enquiries. [LNB]South Wales Police said the man who died was from Hengoed, Caerphilly. [LNB]They said the articulated car transporter was travelling in an easterly direction at time of the collision and the small Vauxhall van was travelling in the opposite direction. [LNB]Officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the collision or the driving of either vehicle beforehand to come forward. [LNB]Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers.
