Leon Barnett signs from Norwich and could go straight into the side at Sheff Weds tomorrow.

Providing the paperwork is completed in time today Leon Barnett could start against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow as City face a defender crisis with first choice centre halves Mark Hudson and Ben Turner both out injured.

Barnett arrives on a one month loan that runs out after the home game with Forest on April 13th.

Speaking to www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk Malky Mackay said “Leon is an experienced defender and will add quality to our ranks over the coming weeks. He’s quick, aggressive and a combative player – an excellent professional who has been involved in promotion pushes and is a good lad too. I’ve no doubt he’ll fit in very well with the squad and I would like to thank Chris Hughton and Norwich City for their help in bringing Leon in, it’s very much appreciated.”

The 27 year old has already experienced promotion from this division with WBA and Norwich in the past.

He will be squad no. 25.
