Cardiff City will not go to Malaysia this July. A 10 day tour had been planned with at least two matches to be played during the visit to the homeland of the new investors in the club.Plans are now afoot to hold a tour to Malaysia in 2011. The statement released by Cardiff City says:The decision comes following Cardiff City FC's manager Dave Jones' recent inspection trip to Kuala Lumpur, where a review of the timings and logistics of the proposed tour resulted in the decision to pursue alternative tour options for this year. The club will now look at plans for a pre-season tour of Malaysia next year.Jones himself added "After a great trip to Malaysia, we can see that the opportunities and benefits to the club would be much bigger if we have the tour next year. For the summer ahead we have decided to revert to our alternative plans, which will more than suffice for our needs."Cardiff City have three confirmed pre season games. Away at Bath City (July 8th), away at Notts County (July 24th) and at home to Deportivo (July 31st).It's thought the squad could go to Portugal instead as they have in previous years.
