Jon Parkin has been loaned to Doncaster. Malky Mackay explains why. Jon Parkin played 57 minutes for Doncaster yesterday as they won their first game of the season beating Crystal Palace 1 - 0 at The Keepmoat. Jon Oster scored the winning goal. He is there on an initial months loan. When asked why he had been loaned City boss Mackay said|: “Jon from the first day I was here applied himself really well. He’s trained every day and not missed a session and he worked as hard as anyone preseason. “He’s a smashing lad, a very funny boy too. It’s nothing to do with personality. It was nothing to do with my ethos on the game why he is not here. I just feel there are other players in front of him now when it comes to the way we want to play and he wants to play football.”
