Post match reaction from Brighton.

"I was delighted at the disciplined nature of my team," Malky Mackay said.

"Delighted at the way we played against a good team, a team that plays to a certain style at home.

"If you don't make sure that you keep the ball then they'll keep the ball off you for an awful long time, but I thought our possession was fantastic.

"Both teams ended up with five chances on target so it was a pretty even game; we missed two from three yards... but overall honours even," Mackay added.

"I felt as the game went on, anytime the ball went anywhere near our box our guys were fantastic and were getting to the ball first and clearing their lines well.

"But I thought our team as a whole played well, it's 180 minutes and two clean sheets and I'm delighted with that, it's a solid foundation to start from.

New midfield recruit Jordan Mutch was replaced at half-time by Joe Mason becuase of injury, but at this stage Mackay does not think the foot problem will prove to be serious.

"He took a stamp on the top of his foot... there came a point where he just couldn't continue and we had to get him off," the Cardiff boss said.

"I thought he had a real good first half, looked very dangerous every time he went forward and is adapting well to life at Cardiff," Mackay added

"We'll have a look, it's the usual bumps and bruises in there just now but we'll keep an eye on him for the next two or three days."

Gus Poyet saw his side fail to score for the second game in a row.

"The players need to keep believing. I feel for them but we need to remain positive through this.
