Look at what we could have won

I've avoided Sky Sports News over the past couple of days. It was bad enough losing on Saturday but to have a tangerine nightmare on display every 15 mins would have been too much to bear. I did though manage to catch the Blackpool parade on the ITV news last night. For one last time I wallowed in some self pity as I watched the ecstatic Blackpool fans and players celebrate their achievement.I only hope that the Cardiff City squad management were watching as well and they can see what winning would have meant to us.Best of luck to Blackpool and well done to Ian Holloway. An entertaining charachter who has done fantastically well.Nearly everyone will have seen the game on Saturday. Two quality City goals, a superb free kick from Blackpool (although a poor one to concede) and some horrendous defending from the Bluebirds to gift Blackpool two goals that ultimately won them the match.City dominated possession in the 2nd half but despite several decent efforts including hitting the woodwork a goal never came. City never recovered from losing Jay Bothroyd early to a calf injury. Kelvin Etuhu was just not upto the the role of being the big man upfront. The errors that gifted Blackpool their goals paired up with a muted City support made it a sad and frustrating day. Not an experience I'd want again in a hurry. Give me automatic promotion and let someone else have the heartache. It was a shame that what has been a superb season ended in such a manner. So no open top bus ride this year. Now we move on to what happens this summer. Who stays? Who goes? Will the manager stay? This week sees the Malaysians take over and Peter Ridsdale step down. I wonder if they will outline the plans for the coming season or even the coming years.Getting to within one goal of the Premier League is advancement on last year. I think Dave Jones has one last season to get us promoted. I just hope that last Saturday wasn't our peak.An interesting summer ahead.Share |
