Ledley looking at long-term goals

Lifelong Bluebirds fan Ledley is yet to taste victory over the white half of South Wales - with Swansea winning their Carling Cup clash and drawing both league encounters last season as the bitter rivals met for the first time in almost a decade.[LNB]In fact, the Swans have won three and drawn four of their seven meetings since Cardiff's last triumph way back in March 1997. Ledley, 22, would love to rewrite history on Saturday as the two come face-to-face at the Liberty Stadium - but he knows promotion to the Premier League is the glittering prize this season and not just local bragging rights.[LNB]"Every Cardiff City fan looks forward to this fixture and won't be happy if we lose," he told the South Wales Echo. "But they must also look at the bigger picture and tell themselves our quest this season is more than two matches.[LNB]"If we lose against Swansea City home and away - something we would hate to do - and earn promotion then surely that is better.[LNB]"Of course, we'd love to go up and win the two derby games, that would be ideal. But what is important is that we don't slip up as we did over the last four matches last season. We want to get out of the Championship and three points on Saturday would help us do that. It's the only way to look at the game - a chance to earn three points."[LNB][LNB]
