Herewith a look at the lastest news from the Cardiff City Supporters' Trys Notice of General Meeting on 22 July to Approve Trust AccountsAll Trust members are invited to a General Meeting of the Cardiff City Supporters Society Ltd (Cardiff City Supporters Trust). It will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday 22nd July at the Duke of Clarence public house in Clive Road, Canton, Cardiff. The only formal business of the meeting is to seek the approval of members for the audited accounts of the Cardiff City Supporters Society Ltd for the period 4th August 2008 to 31st December 2009.Following the formal business (which should not take long), there will be an opportunity for members to meet and question the Directors of the Trust and for discussion of any issues you may wish to raise. We urge all members to attend if you possibly can as we need a quorum to get the accounts approved and filed with the Financial Services Authority but aside from the boring bit, we want to meet our members and hear what you have to say. Statement From Cardiff CityThe trust welcomes the statement on Cardiff City's official web-site concerning the overdue payments to HMRC and other creditors and the transfer embargo caused by the late filing of the Club's accounts. Clearly, there remain serious difficulties for the Club to work through but at least we are being told about the true state of affairs, unlike some past occasions. The Trust has called for more honesty and openness from the Club towards its supporters and we hope this new approach continues.By the way, the fact you have been invited today to approve the Trust's own accounts is pure co-incidence (honestly)! And Finally, Do You Know A Venue We Could Use? The Trust is keen to hold more events outside Cardiff so that the whole of South Wales can engage with our work. We want to hold a quiz in September and are looking for a suitable location where we could get about a hundred fans together for a good night out. A similar event at the Duke of Clarence in Cardiff was enjoyed by all and raised funds for the Trust too. Do you know of a pub or social club outside of Cardiff where City fans meet that would be willing to host an event like this for free?
