Peter Whittingham's missed penalty proved costly as Kagisho Dikgacoi scored a late winner for Crystal Palace to secure a 1-0 victory and put another massive dent in Cardiff's automatic promotion hopes.
Whittingham failed from the spot in the 69th minute and the Eagles took full advantage with a fortunate winner when the ball ricocheted off Dikgacoi`s heel and into the bottom corner in the 82nd minute.
Palace, unbeaten at home in 10 games, were largely dominant during the opening period and constantly forced the Bluebirds onto the back foot.
However, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas did superbly well to hit a shot which Julian Speroni tipped around a post.
Wright then handled the ball and Whittingham missed the target before Palace struck the decisive blow eight minutes from time.
