Lambert becomes new Villa manager

and the speculation mounts that Norwich could target Malky.

Although all the speculation though is fuelled by the media and the bookies.

Cardiff City FC have stated:

“The club will not get involved in speculative lines in every instance, but at this moment no approach has been made to Cardiff City for Malky.”

While Norwich City chief executive David McNally said:

“I’ve seen it reported that we’ve contacted their particular clubs about their managers.

“We haven’t and I’d like to put that on record.”

Malky Mackay, a former Norwich player who won the Championship with them in 2004 and Celtic's Neil Lennon are joined by Birmingham City's Chris Hughton as the favourites for the Norwich City job.

Mackay is under contract with City until 2016 but as we've seen by Lambert's actions and even Brendan Rodgers down the road there's no such thing as loyalty when a bigger club with more money comes along.

Players and managers alike all want to succeed in the Premier League. If Malky was given that opportunity then no one would be be surprised would they if he took the chance better himself?
