Koumas: I wanted Cardiff move

Jason Koumas claims he told Wigan that Cardiff was the only place he wanted to go after sealing a season-long loan in south Wales. The Wrexham-born midfielder enjoyed a memorable spell with the Bluebirds back in 2005/06 and he is keen to replicate that having lost his way somewhat at the DW Stadium. "It`s great to be back," Koumas told Cardiff City Player. "It`s probably been a long time waiting to be honest and I can`t wait to get started. "I`ve had a bit of a tough time at Wigan, especially the last few months. I`ve been injured, been out a lot. I`ve just gone a bit stale there. It was agreed that I wanted a change. I spoke to Dave (Jones, manager) quite a bit and I told Wigan there was only one place I will go to and that was Cardiff." Much has changed at the club since Koumas` last loan stint in the Welsh capital - not to mention a new ground and training facilities. But he insists Jones was the major attraction in pulling on the City shirt once again. "He just lets me play, he gives me a freedom. I enjoy playing for him, he`s got great coaching staff. He is the reason I`ve come back here - it`s definitely Dave Jones and I can`t wait to get started again," added the 30-year-old.
