Kennedy sorry for Deepdale defeat

The defeat all-but ended City's hopes of automatic promotion but, lying fourth in the table, they are still in a strong position to reach the play-offs.

And Kennedy insisted they must not allow negativity to infiltrate the camp.

"We apologise," he told WalesOnline. "It sounds terrible but we might as well have stayed at home.

"But let's not get carried away, we still have a hugely important part of the season ahead of us.

"We still have three matches left, and a play-off spot to aim for. Everybody at the start of the season would have taken that scenario."
