Jones would welcome Ramsey loan extension

Manager Dave Jones has revealed any potential extension of Aaron Ramsey`s loan spell at Cardiff lies in Arsenal`s hands. The talented young midfielder completed his switch back to the Welsh capital on Saturday morning having left for Arsenal in a £5million deal in June 2008. Ramsey has rejoined on a month`s loan until February 26, although it was completed too late for him to feature against Watford at the weekend, and Jones would love to keep him for longer but acknowledges that is not his decision to make. "It (an extension) is their (Arsenal`s) option, it`s open-ended and we`re hoping they don`t need him," he said. "I was asked about him a few months ago when he went to Nottingham Forest and probably at his stage of his recovery and where we were and what we were doing, it wasn`t the right thing to bring him in. Now that he`s got more games under his belt and more training we felt it was the right time to move and we`re really pleased we got him. "It means we`ve got another quality player at this football club. It also dispels a lot of the old rumours that he couldn`t wait to get away and everything else."
