Jones: We lacked fight

Cardiff manager Dave Jones blasted his side's lack of fight after they crashed out of the Carling Cup 2-1 at League One Peterborough. The Bluebirds were on the receiving end of a late turnaround at London Road as Craig Mackail-Smith and George Boyd sent them tumbling after Jay Bothroyd had put the Bluebirds ahead. Jones said: "We played some impressive football during the first half when the only complaint was the fact that we were not out of sight. "We lost our shape in the middle of the park and other players failed to step up to the plate after Seyi Olofinjana went off. "Not only that, we lacked fight in key areas of the pitch. It doesn't matter how much ability you have in the ranks if you stop putting the hard work in." Meanwhile, Jones revealed Ross McCormack is due to have transfer talks with Championship rivals Leeds on Wednesday.
