Jones: No play-off hangover for Bluebirds

Dave Jones insists a healthy contingent of his Cardiff side go into the forthcoming play-offs without the negative experience of last season's final defeat to Blackpool. The Bluebirds are preparing for a two-legged semi-final showdown against Reading as they look to secure a return to Wembley just 12 months after the heartbreak of their 3-2 reverse to Ian Holloway's side. Of the 18 involved in Saturday's final-day 1-1 draw at Burnley, Stephen Bywater, Dekel Keinan, Seyi Olofinjana, Jason Koumas, Craig Bellamy, Tom Heaton, Jon Parkin, Gavin Rae and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas were not involved against Blackpool. Jones said: "Losing any football match is a bad one (experience), but there's a lot of players here who weren't there last year. Dekel didn't play, Bellers, Seyi, so there's a lot of players in the squad who haven't got that experience." Reading are up first, however, and Jones added: "It's a tough, tough two games for us home and away. We had two hard games against them, just as we did at home against Burnley and now away. "Everybody's got to get this lull of disappointment (out of the system). It just shows you the level of expectation that we have at this football club."
