Jones hopes to replace Etuhu

The on-loan Manchester City starlet damaged ankle ligaments at the weekend and with Jones dismissing claims made by Ross McCormack that he will be fit sooner rather than later, it leaves the Bluebirds short of attacking options. Jones told the club's official website: "I'll speak to the chairman about a replacement loan player, but we can't get anybody in time to play at Reading (on Wednesday night). "In any case, we'll have to wait until Kelvin sees the specialist. It also means other people will get a chance to stake a claim for a first-team place." Meanwhile, Jones has also praised Joe Ledley's commitment during his ongoing contract negotiations and took a different view to Wales manager John Toshack after he admitted he felt the midfielder had not been at his best of late for club or country. "I've seen no change in Joe," he said. "He's a strong character and a strong personality. He's been doing all the right things. He's working very hard any he's not sulking, he's just not that sort of person. I feel that he has been playing well."
