Jones frustrated by replay

Cardiff manager Dave Jones admitted an FA Cup replay was not the ideal scenario for his depleted squad but he was happy to still be in the competition. After Saturday`s 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium, the Bluebirds will lock horns with Stoke again on Tuesday January 18 - a fixture that is sandwiched between four league matches as City bid for promotion from the npower Championship. Should Cardiff succeed in seeing off the Potters second time around then a trip to either Doncaster or Jones` former employers Wolves awaits in the fourth round later this month, meaning the Welsh club could face a potential six games in 23 days. And Jones is hoping to see an improvement in fortunes within his treatment room - combined with strengthening in the January transfer market - as he battles a lengthy list of injury and illness. "I spoke to Tony (Pulis, Stoke manager) a few weeks ago and it (a draw) was probably the last result we wanted but you`re not going to not take it," he said. "It`s a difficult place to come and I thought we earned the chance to be in the hat. But we need to get some players back and we need to get some players in and we`re trying to do that."
