Jones sixth-placed side moved five points clear of the pack chasing play-off spots with a 3-1 win over Watford at Cardiff City Stadium, moving within three points of rivals Swansea, and the former Southampton boss knows his side have put their destiny in their own hands.[LNB]He said: "You can't worry about anybody else, you just worry about that you are doing.[LNB]"There is no point saying 'they are doing this' or 'they are doing that' because it is down to us.[LNB]"We have won so I can't have anything to do with the others around us. We are in this position because we have been getting points and for all the teams up there, it's in their own hands.[LNB]"We also have a game in hand against Leicester here so if we can keep going and get a couple of people back from injury we can be there or thereabouts."[LNB]Despite the scoreline Jones' side did not have it all their own way.[LNB]Striker Ross McCormack opening the scoring seven minutes in with a superb finish after Peter Whittingham picked him out on the far edge of the area with a pinpoint corner, but relegation-threatened Watford responded strongly and could easily have held the lead at half-time after defender Martin Taylor hit the post, Will Hoskins fired just over and Heidar Helguson saw his goal-bound header deflected wide.[LNB]They paid for wasting those chances when Whittingham headed in his 21st goal of the season from a Chris Burke cross in the 63rd minute.[LNB]Burke added the third in the 78th minute after a fine run and cool finish, before Helguson netted a late consolation for Malky Mackay's side.[LNB]Jones admitted his side had struggled at times, but was pleased to see them turn things round after the interval.[LNB]"In the first half we just lacked a little bit of composure and a lot of the time we were just lashing the ball away and it was coming back at us.[LNB]"In the second half once we got the composure and the second goal we had a lot more of the play and deserved the win."[LNB]Jones revealed he had spoken to Dato Chan Tien Ghee as talks continue over the Malaysian tycoon's possible takeover of the club, who face a High Court date with Her Majesty's Revenues and Customs in May over an unpaid tax bill.[LNB]"I was with TG," he said. "I had a couple of hours with him at the training ground and had a cup of tea with him in the evening as the rugby was on and I am not a connoisseur of rugby.[LNB]"I also spoke to the chairman today and hopefully something will be found and if it is it will be great for everyone and we can relax a bit."[LNB]Watford boss Mackay was proud of his side's display despite their defeat, which sees them remain three points above the relegation zone.[LNB]He said: "There was a period in the first half where we had numerous chances and I felt we certainly deserved to get something out of the game.[LNB]"We have to learn that both boxes count and they certainly did today. But to come down and play the way we did, I have got to be proud of the players. We now have to focus on the next game and get as many points as possible."[LNB][LNB]
