The 22-year-old, whose future is the subject of ongoing speculation, has been criticised for his performances this season and spoke out on Wednesday, claiming he needs surgery on a hip problem.[LNB]Jones told the club's official website: "Joe has a problem with his hips and he probably will need an operation. It's the same sort of thing that Roger Johnson and Warren Feeney had and you can get through to the end of the season.[LNB]"If it gets to the stage where Joe can't play anymore, then, like any player at the club, he will be treated in the correct manner. Joe is well aware of everything tha has gone on with the medical team - he's been part of it.[LNB]"He is still employed by the club and, while he is still employed by this club, he will be selected if he's fit and ready. At the moment, he's fit and he's ready, so, if I feel he should be selected, he'll be selected."[LNB]Ledley's contract expires next summer, and Jones added: "I don't want to lose Joe but I do want him to make up his mind whether he's going to sign. At the moment, I can't get that answer. We want him to sign."[LNB][LNB]
