Jones demands positive reaction

Boss Dave Jones insists Cardiff's response to Friday's 5-1 mauling at Newcastle is the only thing that matters when bottom club Peterborough come to town on Tuesday night. A beleaguered Bluebirds side were comfortably beaten by a United outfit high in confidence and boosted by January signings but Jones wants his charges to put that right against Posh, who memorably came from 4-0 down to claim a point at London Road in late December. He told the club's official website: "The match gives us a chance to stop feeling sorry for ourselves. There were one or two sad faces on Sunday but once the players got back into their training kit and out on the pitch they were fine. "Now we'll get focused for the next one. We've lost games before but what's important is how we respond to it. Defeat hasn't done anything to our confidence." He added: "We've got over the result at Peterborough. Since then we've been on a fantastic run. The game has well and truly gone. There'll be reminders but we've moved on from that. If anybody wants to talk about putting things right, we did that in the following game." This week promises to be a crucial one in Cardiff's history as they look to settle an outstanding £2.7million tax bill ahead of a possible winding-up order in the High Court on Wednesday.
