Whatever the outcome of tonight's play off semi final 2nd leg with Leicester, Cardiff City are keen to keep the fans off the pitch. Speaking ahead of the match Dave Jones has appealed via the official website:"In recent weeks we have seen a number of clubs picking up negative headlines following unwelcomed pitch invasions, ranging from Kenilworth Road, Hillsborough, Burton and Hull to name a few. We appreciate that there is a high level of excitement and tension surrounding this important match. But with the television cameras and media eyes on us, we want to ensure that the club is seen for showing passion in the correct manner."Since our FA Cup trips to Wembley in 2008 the reputation of our supporters has soared and we want to continue that building process on Wednesday night. Should we get the result we want, then we should look to emulate Stamford Bridge on the weekend, where the players could come back and show their appreciation for what has been done. And if it's not to be we need to respect our opponents, while keeping our reputation intact. Please play your part in the name of the club and stay off the pitch."The winners of tonight's game between Cardiff and Leicester will face Blackpool at Wembley on May 22nd.Share |
