He is the second player to leave in the past 24 hopurs after Rudy Gestede went to Blackburn yesterday.
Mason will join up with defender Kevin McNaughton who has been at Bolton for the past couple of months.
Mason's loan period is set to end on January 5th and he could make his first appearance this weekend against Middlesbrough.
