11 November 2010 13:37
The Championships top scorer and City striker Jay Bothroyd has been named nPower Championship Player of the Month for October. Jay held off competition from Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair, Portsmouth midfielder Liam Lawrence and Nottingham Forest's Lewis McGugan to win the npower Championship Player of the Month trophy.Bothroyd scored City's leveller at Reading last night and he's now scored as many goals this season as he did all of last season. He has hit 13 goals in 15 games which probably makes him (I've not checked) the most prolific striker in the Football league at the moment.Emma Collins, npower Head of Sponsorship tole the Football League website : "We would like to congratulate Jay Bothroyd on picking up this month's award and are delighted to be able to reward the hard work that has led to these fantastic performances. It's great to be able to recognise these individuals who are making the npower Football League such a success."Congratulations Jay.
