Congratulations to Jay Bothroyd for getting a call up to Fabio Capello's latest squad for England's friendly against France on Wednesday. Bothroyd gave a gentle reminder on Saturday afternoon with two goals at Scunthorpe and when the squad was announced at 9pm on Saturday he was named as one of the strikers ahead of Kevin Davies who was not included. It's a great reward for Bothroyd who has been in great form and banging in the goals as well. 15 now in 16 games this season. This is the best form of his career. He's already beating his best tally of goals in a season and we still have 29 League games to go.Bothroyd was named alongside Gabby Agbonlahor, Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch as the centre forwards in the squad but since then Carroll and Agbonlahor have injuries. Carlton Cole has been called in as cover.England have several injuries up front hence the need for Capello to go looking in the Champinship for a striker. He is already missing Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe and Bobby Zamora.Bothroyd, if he gets a game, will be the first Championship player since David Nugent to play for England back in 2007.Commenting last night on Twitter Jay said @Today has to be the happiest day of my career'.Initial squad named 9pm Saturday 13th November.Foster (Birmingham), Hart (Man City), Green (West Ham); Gibbs (Arsenal), Cole (Chelsea), Terry (Chelsea), Jagielka (Everton), Lescott (Man City), Richards (Man City), Ferdinand (Man Utd), Smalling (Man Utd); Walcott (Arsenal), Wilshere (Arsenal), Young (Aston Villa), Gerrard (Liverpool), Barry (Man City), Johnson (Man City), Milner (Man City), Henderson (Sunderland); Agbonlahor (Aston Villa), Bothroyd (Cardiff), Carroll (Newcastle), Crouch (Tottenham).
