Jason Koumas has spoken today about his move to Cardiff City. News broke yesterday afternoon that Koumas had agreed a move from Wigan to return to Cardiff 5 years after his last loan spell here.Cardiff tried to complete a permanent signing in 2006 when the loan period was up but financially a deal could not be done. Koumas started 42 League games in the 2005 / 2006 season for City.Koumas is still just 30. Injuries didn't help last season as he made less than 10 Premier league appearances. He admits things had gone a bit stale at the DW Stadium for him."It's great to be back," Koumas told Cardiff City Player. "It's probably been a long time waiting to be honest and I can't wait to get started. "I've had a bit of a tough time at Wigan, especially the last few months. I've been injured, been out a lot. I've just gone a bit stale there. It was agreed that I wanted a change. I spoke to Dave (Jones) quite a bit and I told Wigan there was only one place I will go to and that was Cardiff." "He (Jones) just lets me play, he gives me a freedom. I enjoy playing for him, he's got great coaching staff. He is the reason I've come back here - it's definitely Dave Jones and I can't wait to get started again."Koumas, along with Danny Drinkwater and Tom Heaton is waiting for the transfer embargo to be lifted so their registrations can be lodged with the Football League thus anabling them to play. The clock is counting down towards Sunday's opening game against Sheffield Utd.
