Nat Jarvis is hoping that a run in the Southend team will help show Dave Jones he's worth a chance back at the CCS. He told BBC Essex: "Hopefully he'll see how well I've done here and he gives me a chance and offers me a contract. "I think we've got seven games in the time I'm here so hopefully I can get a few games under my belt." Jarvis agreed a 28-day short-term switch to Southend after impressing during a trial, and quickly found himself in the squad to face Hereford. "I got told Monday that I was coming down for a trial game on Wednesday," he added. "I travelled down on the Tuesday, played and impressed the manager. "I'm really happy, I've been a scholar for two years so it's good to get some first-team experience."Jarvis has made two appearances off the bench so far in the past four days for The Shrimpers.
