Irvine denies Gerrard link
Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has shown surprised at being linked with Cardiff City defender Anthony Gerrard. Irvine, who has signed eight players this summer, told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I am surprised to hear that one. "I would expect that Anthony Gerrard's under contract which would require there to be a fee involved, and we don't have any money." It's been suggested in South Wales that Gerrard could be loaned out to allow Glen Loovens to come in.
