Hull hold their nerve to win at home

Before Cardiff kick off Hull have closed the gap to 4 points.

The Tigers beat a floundering Middlesbrough 1 - 0 at the KC Stadium this afternoon to close the gap on Cardiff to 4 points (but Hull have played two games more) and importantly for Hull they have a four point lead over Watford.

So Hull will be cheering Cardiff on in the game that's just about to kick off at Vicarage Rd.

The situation is clearer now. If Cardiff win they will go 11 points ahead of Watford and will need just five points for promotion.

A draw at Vicarage Rd will see a three point gain for Cardiff who will still require 8 points for promotion.

A win for Watford will see the sitiuation remain the same as before kick off and City will need 11 points to secure a top two place.

Cardiff play their game in hand on Tuesday at home to Barnsley. So we have a massive four days that could virtually see Cardiff into the Premier League if results go the right way.
