Hughes brace stuns Bluebirds
Lee Hughes grabbed a first-half brace as Notts County saw off Cardiff 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at Meadow Lane.
The prolific marksman capped an impressive display from the hosts when he broke the deadlock in the 28th minute following David Marshall`s mis-hit goal kick before grabbing his second just before the interval.
An out-of-sorts City side did reduce the arrears just after the half-hour mark when Ross McCormack found the net but it was the Magpies who registered a deserved victory.
