Heaton blow for Bluebirds

02 December 2010 14:30
Cardiff goalkeeper Tom Heaton has sustained a training ground injury which is understood to be set to keep him on the sidelines until the new year. The Bluebirds number one is on crutches following an awkward fall in which he suffered ligament damage, although City are officially yet to confirm details of the injury or the extent of his absence. Scotland international David Marshall will take his place between the sticks for Saturday`s Championship visit of Preston, with the encounter currently getting the green light despite the wintery conditions sweeping Britain. Marshall lost the number one jersey to Heaton in late September, with the summer signing from Manchester United starting the club`s last 12 games.
