Gerrard returns for Bluebirds

The 24-year-old has missed the last three games due to a calf problem but could return to the heart of the defence as the fourth-placed Bluebirds look to continue their push for promotion, against a side who are just a point below them in the table.

Kevin McNaughton (thigh) has again been ruled out while Jay Bothroyd completes his two-match ban.

Mark Kennedy came off bench to make his comeback from a rib problem in Saturday's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace and could push for a starting berth at the expense of Tony Capaldi.

Kelvin Etuhu will be hoping to retain his place in the starting XI after recovering from an ankle problem in time to make his first appearance since December in that clash but Jones also has Ross McCormack at his disposal to give him a welcome selection headache.

Captain Mark Hudson (ankle) and Joe Ledley (hips) are set to return in mid-April.
