Gerrard offers Jones another dimension

The return to fitness of Anthony Gerrard will give Dave Jones something to think about. Jones must now consider bringing back Gerrard in place of either Mark Hudson or Darcy Blake - both of whom saw City through the semi finals against Leicester City.I have the feeling that if Jones is going to change he make bring Gerrad back in place of Darcy Blake. I would not be surprised either though if only gave Gerrad a place on the bench.I'm pretty sure the rest of the team picks itself.Marshall. McNaughton, (2 from Blake, Gerrard and Hudson), Kennedy, Burke, Ledley, McPhail, Whittingham, Bothroyd and Chopra.Subs from Enckelman, Capaldi, Gyepes, Quinn, Wildig, Etuhu, McCormack and Matthews? Where has Adam Matthews gone? Not even on the bench for the two Leicester games. There have been rumours of possible minor injuries to Bothroyd and Chopra and we know that Peter Whittingham came off against Leciester last week but I'm confident all three will run out at Wembley on Saturday.Chris Burke admits the City squad, and the club is "buzzing" ahead of the match."It's a massive match, we all know that," said Burke."But I am sure the tension will go and it will be replaced by anticipation when we set off for Wembley."Every player, every member of staff at Cardiff City want promotion and we also want to repay the fans for their support."They have travelled around the country in their thousands to support the team and a win at Wembley would be a great way to give them something back."Our camp is a happy camp. The place has been buzzing this week."Hopefully it will be buzzing even more after Saturday's match."We have worked hard to get where we are and it's all about doing the business at Wembley."Share |
