Gerrard believes in Blake
Cardiff's Anthony Gerrard has stated his belief that he would be the ideal partner for central defender Darcy Blake.
Towards the end of last season Gerrard formed a strong partnership with Blake, but due to suffering a calf injury he missed the play-off final so Mark Hudson partnered Blake instead.
Cardiff currently have four centre backs battling for the two available starting places.
As well as Gerrard, Blake and Hudson there is also Gabor Gyepes aiming to make the starting line-up.
"All of us want to impress and play. The combination of Darcy and I worked well last season. There is good chemistry between us," Gerrard told his club's official website.
