Cardiff City are set to have their ambition and resolve tested after it's been reported that Nottingham Forest have made a written offer for Peter Whittingham. The Guardian are claiming that Forest have tabled a written £1.5m offer for last season's top scorer.Whittingham has just one year leaft on his City contract. Failure to sell him or secure him to a new City deal will see him able to talk to new clubs in January and then leave for free next summer. After seeing Joe Ledley leave at the end of his contract the club must now move to secure some return for Whittingham whether it's by selling him now or getting his signature down so we can sell him in future and not give him away. From a footballing point of view we ned to see our best players stay at the CCS and not leave for our rivals.Other City players like Jay Bothroyd, Steve McPhail and Kevin McNaughton are also going into their final year.
