Earnshaw: Don't underestimate Blackpool

Robert Earnshaw scored twice for Nottingham Forest in the play off semi final 2nd leg against Blackpool but it wasn't enough to stop the Lancastrians waltzing away from the City ground with a place in the paly off final. Earnshaw, a Cardiff City legend, faces another season in the Championship with Forest and has warned Cardiff that Blackpool are no mugs."Don't listen to this 'it's only little old Blackpool line'," Earnie told the Echo."They are a force to be reckoned with, that's for sure. They work their socks off and play some decent football along the way."Oh yes, they will give it the good old punt upfield when it's necessary, but they do it only when the occasion calls for it."When we played them over the two legs we didn't underestimate them," insisted Earnie."We just did not play to a level that we had been doing for months and they made the most of our mistakes on that particular night.Earnshaw though reckons his old club have enough to be able to beat Blackpool and get promoted to the Premier League."They'll give Cardiff a heck of game but I still think City have a bit more quality in key positions."Yes, they will have to work very hard but I think Cardiff have the edge to go all the way."Earnshaw won't be at Wembley. He's flying to Croatia with Wales for an international friendly on Sunday.Share |
