Cardiff manager Dave Jones received a timely boost on Tuesday as Danny Drinkwater returned to action for the club`s reserves. Jones has been battling with a squad ravaged by injury and illness over recent weeks and will be more than pleased to see Drinkwater take to the field once again after struggling with both of late. The on-loan Manchester United midfielder last featured in first-team action just over a month ago in the 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough but could now come back into contention for Saturday`s trip to Norwich. City`s second-string came from behind to see off Exeter reserves 2-1, with Drinkwater joined in the starting XI by the likes of Adam Matthews, Darcy Blake and Aaron Wildig.
