Drinkwater leaves City
Danny Drinkwater has been recalled from Cardiff by parent club Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has been on loan with the Bluebirds since August but has returned to Old Trafford with immediate effect.
The midfielder's stay at the Cardiff City Stadium had been hampered with illness and injuries, which limited him to just 12 appearances in all competitions.
His final appearance for Dave Jones' side came in the FA Cup third-round replay defeat to Stoke.
Aaron Ramsey, who signed on-loan from Arsenal last week, is likely to fill the void left by Drinkwater.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Cardiff City football club wish to thank Manchester United and Danny for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future."
