City must keep star names - Blake
Joe Ledley, Roger Johnson and Ross McCormack have all been linked with moves to the Premier League following the late collapse of City's promotion bid last term.
Boss Jones is eying a summer rebuilding job, but Blake insists it is essential the nucleus of his squad stays together.
"I think Dave Jones would now need to hold onto 90% of his squad," Blake told the South Wales Echo.
"You would want to hold onto McCormack and Johnson if you are going to give yourself a realistic chance of doing anything next season."
