City chief: Johnson could have died
The 25-year-old defender was struck by Davis' arm as Palace defended a set-piece at Selhurst Park last weekend, leaving him spitting blood and spending the next two days in hospital, the first of which was in a high-dependency unit.[LNB]The on-loan Eagles defender was on Wednesday charged with violent conduct by the Football Association and could now face a three-match ban.[LNB]Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo: "I am sure Claude Davis did not deliberately chop Roger across the throat, but it was a bad incident. I am stunned he has not made contact to apologise for what happened - and that Crystal Palace have not been in touch.[LNB]"The blow meant there was potential swelling at the back and front of the neck. There was bleeding and that was threatening to block his airwaves. In Roger's case the bleeding stopped in time to allow him to breathe. Otherwise, as the specialist said, he could have died on the pitch.[LNB]"But that's it. The FA have made their decision - and nobody at Cardiff City will be taking legal action."[LNB][LNB]
