Chopra setback for Bluebirds

Cardiff have been dealt a huge blow with the news Michael Chopra will not play again this season. The striker, who has nine league goals this term, has received scan results which show he sustained a Grade Three hamstring tear during last Sunday`s 2-2 draw against Barnsley. That rules Chopra out for between 10 to 12 weeks, meaning City will now have to do without his services as they battle for promotion to the Premier League. Chopra`s absence only increases the pressure on Jay Bothroyd who, after finding the net 15 times in the opening months of the season, has scored just twice since his November call-up by England - the last of which came on February 1. However, the Bluebirds were at least handed some good news on Wednesday with Craig Bellamy cleared of improper conduct by the FAW in relation to a tunnel incident against Reading last month, leaving him free to focus on the remaining nine matches of the season.
