The 2014 Uefa Super Cup between the winners of the Champions League and the winners of the Europa League will be held at the CCS in two years time.
First Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones said: 'This is fantastic news and confirms once again how our capital city is in the 'champions league' itself when it comes to hosting world class sporting events.
'The European Super Cup will be a major boost to not only to the city, but also for the global profile of Wales.'
