Carrow Rd reaction. Draw was probably fair

Conceding a late goal is obviously frustrating but Dave Jones felt a draw was probably a fair reflection. Cardiff manager Dave Jones thought a draw was a fair reflection of the game.Jones said: "This is a very difficult place to come to and we've had to defend for long periods but I don't think they created too many chances."We probably had the better opportunities from our counter-attacks but we didn't take any of them and in the end it has cost us."Obviously it's very frustrating to concede a goal right at the end especially when their lad hasn't really connected with it properly. I didn't actually think it was a goal at first but overall it was probably a fair result on the day."Our fans were superb today. It's a long, long way to come and I think in return they have seen a solid performance from their side. We have now taken four points from a side who are up there at the moment and if we did that with all our opponents I'd certainly be more than happy with that."We had our little bad patch and hopefully that's behind us now. It was probably down to a lack of bodies as much as anything else and also to the fine dividing line between victory and defeat at the top end because we could have easily got something out of the games which we lost."We've got Jay (Bothroyd) coming back and soon we'll be pretty much up to full strength. We'll also be looking to add to what we've got before the end of the month. We're nicely placed at the moment and I certainly can't complain."Jones was also pleased with the debut of new signing Parkin."It was an excellent debut. He's actually been here three weeks now but because of his knee injury he only started training with us this week and we didn't tell him what to do today, we just said go out and play. It was a brilliant strike for the goal and he's gone on to do a good job for the side, even though he was puffing a bit towards the end."Norwich boss Paul Lambert said: "I thought we were excellent, I really did, against a really good side. It would have been very tough on us if we hadn't got anything from the game."The crowd were terrific as they always are and they kept pushing us on. How anyone wouldn't want to come and play here in front of them I don't know because they really do get behind us."Having said that, it's a two-way thing and the players were excellent too. They have been top class all season and the performance levels have been consistently high. The away match at Doncaster is the only time I can really remember them dropping below the required level. I really can't praise them enough."I certainly thought we should have had a penalty in the first half (when Paul Quinn appeared to trip Grant Holt in the area). I've looked at it again and it was an obvious penalty. Why the referee didn't give it I just don't know although I accept that they have got the most difficult job in the world and it's not easy for them."Lambert was delighted with Martin's 90th-minute equaliser."Russell did really well to squeeze that in from such a tight angle. He stepped up from League One and is playing really well at the moment, in fact he's been excellent all season. He has created a niche for himself at right-back and he's also scoring goals. I think he's got four already this season which is really good for a full-back."Lambert is also hoping to extend Arsenal loanee Henri Lansbury's stay at the club."That was Henri's final game of the current loan spell. We'd like to keep him here and the good news is that he would like to stay as well, hopefully for the rest of the season. But obviously he's an Arsenal player and it will be up to the main man (Arsene Wenger) what happens next. All we can do is get in touch and hopefully something can be sorted out."
