Cardiff have seen a bid for goalkeeper Andrew Lonergan rejected by Preston. North End chairman Maurice Lindsay revealed the Lancashire club had dismissed the offer, which was faxed on Sunday. Lindsay said: "We turned down a bid from Cardiff for Lonergan - they didn't have the confidence to ring us up, we got a fax from them." The Bluebirds currently have Tom Heaton and David Marshall battling for the number one jersey, with Heaton regular first-choice this term aside from a month-long spell during December when sidelined by injury.
