Cardiff welcome back Whittingham

Peter Whittingham is likely to be available for Cardiff's home clash against Burnley. The midfielder missed Saturday's 1-0 victory over Scunthorpe with a dead leg but is set to return to the fold for what is City's game in hand over the majority of their promotion rivals. Boss Dave Jones does not have any new injury concerns but may well rotate one or two to keep his side fresh for a demanding forthcoming schedule. City's players reported for duty on Sunday with everyone okay barring the usual knocks and bruises, but that does not mean Jones will refrain from making changes. Craig Bellamy is most likely to make way as the club continue to manage his long-standing knee injury effectively, with one eye on Saturday's massive clash at in-form promotion contenders Nottingham Forest. All three substitutes against Scunthorpe - Chris Burke, Jason Koumas and Jon Parkin - played a positive role in securing the last-gasp triumph and may well have played themselves into contention.
