Cardiff set for defensive reshuffle against Ipswich

Cardiff will be forced to reshuffle their defence at home to Sky Bet Championship play-off rivals Ipswich.

Fabio Da Silva's red card in the 2-0 midweek loss to Leeds - Cardiff's first defeat at home for 14 league games - and subsequent one-match ban has opened up a vacancy at right-back, which Lee Peltier would be expected to fill.

But Peltier suffered severe bruising to his foot at Bristol City last weekend meaning regular centre-back Matthew Connolly will be moved across the defence.

Central defender Sean Morrison is set to make his first start since suffering knee ligament damage in December, with Bluebirds boss Russell Slade retaining the rest of the side which began against Leeds.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy hopes to have both striker Daryl Murphy and midfielder Cole Skuse back following injury.

Murphy has not featured in the past two matches because of a calf problem but has returned to training.

Skuse has also stepped up his recovery since being missing from the start of February with a toe ligament injury.

Defender Kevin Foley (ribs) is expected to be available, along with midfielders Kevin Bru and Ben Pringle who both picked up minor knocks in the midweek 2-2 draw at Bolton.
